Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Linux System Engineer (m/f) motivated to join our equensWordline Open Systems department.

Join us in order to build, to administrate and to develop our European infrastructures which is subject to very strict Security standards (PCI-DSS / PCI-CP / PCI-3DS) and High Availability & Scalability requirements.


Our Open Systems department is present in 6 countries (BE-FR-GE-IT-NL-PL) and 8 locations (Brussels/Blois-Seclin/Aachen-Frankfurt/Utrecht/Milan/Wroclaw) and our core duties are:

  • Delivering 24x7 state-of-the-art IT Infrastructure services for equensWorldline’ entire product portfolio supporting the organisational goals
  • Creating business value by delivering scalable, flexible, cost efficient  and reliable infrastructure services
  • Continuously optimising our services ensuring the best possible cost, stability and quality of service

This department consists of 4 international teams: Run (Production Operational Excellence), Build (Build or renewals of services/infrastructures), Optimize (Harmonization-Standardization-Industrialization of Open Systems activities across countries) and Hosting Services (Customer-specific Services). In parallel with the missions listed above, we have to lead our teams to converge in a common way of work by providing them with standardized processes-methods-tools. It’s a key factor for making our platforms cross-countries operable, without requiring domestic skills.

In that context, you’d join our Optimize team in order to contribute to define the strategy and the standards. You’d support their deployment as well. Life Cycle Management of OS-hardware-software production oriented, automation and industrialization of our Open Systems processes, reduction of flavors per infrastructure blocks, and technical leadership of Standards&Security audits will be part of your tasks. By leading a central technical governance, you’ll be an essential actor regarding the major challenge that represents the international alignment.


Job Requirements

  • Graduated from an engineering school or IT university
  • Experience greater than 5 years
  • System administration of RHEL-based Linux systems (senior-expert profile)
  • Experienced in production and security stakes
  • Familiar with Virtualization Technologies (VMware - OpenVZ – KVM)
  • Familiar with 3 tier architectures and related software (Front : Apache-NginX / Middle : Tomcat/JBoss)
  • Configuration management (knowledge of Ansible, and/or Fabric and/or Puppet)
  • Patch management (Redhat Satellite ou Spacewalk)
  • Good Development Skills (languages such as Bash, Perl, Python) and Scripting (Fabric/Ansible/Puppet) for automation and industrialization
  • Global solutions oriented
  • Analytically and well-structured way of working
  • Team mindset
  • Leadership, sense of responsibility, initiative, proactive force
  • Being an international organization, a good understanding and use of English is mandatory (read/write/speech)
